ICON by Caila: VOGUE Nippon’s Anna dello Russo…
For being so bold, Anna Dello Russo doesn’t get enough attention (or at least, we think so… she deserves SO MUCH MORE!). She’s the undeniably elegant Creative Director at VOGUE Nippon, and steps out of her door every morning clad head-to-toe in innovative ensembles of luxurious designer pieces, plucked straight from the runway. She is completely distinct from “our own” Anna, and frankly, unlike the most haute “who’s who” in the industry. By reading the multiple interviews with her, one can perceive that Russo is much more than a daring fashionista with a yoga-lattes body…her genuine;y experimental spirit-cum-attitude inspires confidence in designers. Her staunch authenticity is rare in the industry, which is how she got to where she is today. She makes the important distinction that she is “first a consumer and then a collector”; she buys the clothes she wears, and has a staple pair of heels.

Anna Dello Russo uses her own taste to showcase choice pieces by wearing them while jaunting from top designer show to top designer show. The ferocious force, yet comfort she possesses in wearing what ever she wants, whenever she wants, is what makes her so uniquely iconic; she will rock the latest creations from top houses in a manor that defies all usual conformity. For example she sported a blood orange Lanvin dress at an early morning Marc by Marc Jacobs show. The confidence with which she carries herself fuses with her positive perspectives and justifies her unique style.
